Park City has taken a bold step toward redefining regional entertainment with the approval of the CHAMPTOWN development plan. The $500 million mixed-use project, led by developers Jeff Lange, Rachel Lange-Mills, and Ryan Mills of Lange Companies, alongside Wichita partners Sean Crawford and Matt Baty, is poised to bring new energy and opportunity to the community.
Spanning 160 acres along I-135, CHAMPTOWN will feature an 80,000-square-foot aquarium with more than 1,500 animals, a butterfly conservatory, a baseball and softball complex with eight fields and a stadium, a combat sports venue, a B&B Theatres, retail shops, restaurants, and hospitality offerings. Together, these attractions are designed to welcome an estimated 2 million visitors annually and support thousands of new jobs in the area.
The Park City Council approved a proposal requesting $145 million in STAR bond financing, a tool that allows cities to use future sales tax revenue to fund tourism and entertainment projects. With state approval still pending, CHAMPTOWN could break ground as soon as this fall, beginning with the baseball complex.
